Back in October 2008...The scripture verse that touched me in particular today is –
And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. Mark 3:25
Lord, I pray for a unified home. I want to be unified in my marriage relationship. Please bind my husband and I together and give us common goals.
Love fights fair…
We’ve “fought” more lately than I’ve wanted to. We should really sit down and iron out a set of rules of engagement.
That was then, this is now...
If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. Mark 3:25
A divided house sounds painful. Scripture says that a divided house won’t be able to stand. It will crumble. The suggestions in today’s devotional are terrific. Whether you’re prone to argue or not, I suggest that every couple come up with “Rules of Engagement for Fighting Fair”. Although my husband and I have never done this, we disagree with the presence of mind to tell the other that the words being spoken are entering a “no-return” danger zone. We don’t fight often, but even though that’s the case, it’s good to agree on how to disagree before you fight – because you will. I need to sit down with my man and discuss this…
Lord, please protect my marriage relationship. Don’t allow any careless actions or words spoken cause any division between my husband and me. In Christ’s name. Amen.
