Serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14
06/19/09 We were all created for some form of service. And this verse teaches that we are supposed to perform those acts of service to each other in love. I don’t always succeed in this. Sometimes I am resentful about service – especially when someone requests that I serve rather than letting me offer to do it. At those moments, I need to hit my knees as soon as possible. Before my heart forms an outer crust, I need to acknowledge the nudging of the Holy Spirit when He tells me that I’m wrong and ask forgiveness and stop sinning in this way. The best way I’ve found to inspire myself to serve others in love is to stay in contact with people I observe who do exactly that. They inspire me to be a better Christian and give me a practical example of how to do it.
