Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
04/07/09 The birth pains continue with ash spewing from Mt. Redoubt in Alaska. 207 people are confirmed dead with several still missing, 50,000 are homeless, and historic structures are demolished due to an earthquake in L’Avila, Italy. How can God be on His throne and allow this? I could provide an accurate stock answer, but I would rather infuse this devotion with a warning and hope. First of all, this is no surprise. God’s Word tells us of natural disasters, false Christs, persecution and martyrdom. Second, all are given the opportunity to ally themselves with Him. The hope is that, as life in the world becomes more unbearable, the time for Christ to make His celestial voyage to collect His people draws nearer. Are you ready to head to your heavenly home? Yes? Hurray, I hope to see you there. No? Pray for Christ to be Lord of your life, now.
