06/01/09 The Greek word used for “seen” in this verse can be defined in many ways. The conventional meaning to see with the eyes, to perceive or to know is implied. Especially since the word is associated with an eye at the beginning of the verse. But my attention was captured by another implication of the infinitive “to see” - to become acquainted with by experience. We can never really know God. We can experience Him on a daily basis. We can become acquainted with Him based on those experiences. But we who love Him cannot fully know Him because the closer we get to Him, the more facets of Him we see. The more beautiful He becomes. The more powerful, the more majestic, the more brilliant, the more loving, the more forgiving He appears. WOW! He is so much more…
