Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23
06/16/09 What does the word “guard” mean to you? To protect? To keep safe? To keep away from harm or danger? How does somebody guard their heart? With armor. Perhaps a breastplate should be used to guard our hearts. Maybe even a breastplate of righteousness? Reference to the armor of God can be found in the book of Ephesians. How do we employ the breastplate of righteousness to guard our hearts? By watching what we expose ourselves to. If we read or watch or listen to or hang out with bad influences, our thoughts grow to be impure and our hearts become poisoned by garbage. Conversely, if we read or watch or listen to or hang out with wholesome influences, our thoughts remain wholesome and protect our hearts. What will you change to help guard your heart, today?
