Today's Daily Devotional


I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14


06/19/09 God deserves our praise regardless of anything. In good times and in bad times, Jesus deserves our worship, our devotion, our focus. In this verse, the psalmist says that he praises God because he is fearfully and wonderfully made. We should follow his example and praise God because He made us! That is more than enough reason to engage in worship – He is our Creator. If you’re having a good day, it’s probably easy to come up with word of praise for the Lord. But if you’re having a rough day, you may be more challenged to come up with something nice to say. Take a few minutes right now and engage the Lord in praise. Be thankful. Sing. Speak words that declare who God is. The reminder may make the floodgates of your praise open wide.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
