Come near to God and He will come near to you. James 4:8
06/12/09 Is there anything better than being near to God? No way! Steak and lobster don’t begin to cut it. The most overwhelmingly fragrant roses don’t smell as sweet. The most breathtaking sunset isn’t nearly as beautiful. The sweetest music doesn’t sound as melodic. The softest silk is rough by comparison. It can be difficult to develop the habit of drawing near to God. It can require great effort. But compared to others, it may seem like no effort at all. Unlike Moses, you don’t have to climb a mountain to be with God. Unlike the Levite priests, you don’t have to wait for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve in the Holy Place of the temple. All you have to do is take the time to turn off the TV or the computer or the video game system, open your Bible and meet with Him. He is waiting.
