Today's Daily Devotional


Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur each other on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:23-24

06/04/09 This verse tells us that we should consider how to spur each other on toward love. How much thought do you put into this? Apparently this is part of our ministry to other believers. Maybe you didn’t consider that. I certainly didn’t. It wasn’t until I was reading and re-reading this verse in an attempt to write this devotional that the Holy Spirit revealed that to me. So, let’s brainstorm. How could you encourage others to love? By complimenting the areas where they are already loving well? By loving them well, yourself? By having discussions about how to love well? Sharing testimonies about how you were loved well by others? Maybe sharing how you would like to be loved by others? By studying the Bible and putting it into action? Any of the above…

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
