Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

02/22/09 I’ve spent quite a bit of time casting my cares on Him, tonight. I was winding down from a tough week, and I got a call from Nancy, my Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) discussion leader. Apparently, I had disregarded one of BSF’s guidelines, and she needed to make sure of two things, bless her heart. First, that I wouldn’t do it again, and second that I had a heads-up that she was going to discuss this in front of the other ladies in our group the following night. The guilt that I’d done something wrong was terrible. The shame I felt at putting her in the position to have to deal with this was also horrific to me. Her graciousness in handling the situation with sensitivity and kindness ministered greatly to me. And I praise God for that experience and easing my anxiety over it almost immediately after I asked for His comfort.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
