Getting Comfy: Ice Breakers #16 - Open Mic Night

Have an open microphone night. Open up the stage for women to share their creative gifts and abilities with others. They can sing, read poetry, dance or do comedy. Basically, they can do anything that would encourage and edify others. Serve light refreshments and invite people from the community in to participate or watch. At the end, have a woman or two share their testimony and have someone share the gospel.

The only drawback to an event like this is you need some bold women in your group to participate. However, this is a good way to discover hidden talents in your church and community.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
