We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
02/23/09 Recently, I encountered the verse from Romans below a bit differently. While studying Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonian church, I bumped into God’s purpose for us. 2 Thessalonians 2:14 says, “He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” This tells me that God’s purpose for us is that we might share in glorifying His Son. So this Romans verse says that we have faith that God uses everything in the life of His loved ones to better them. His loved ones are those who have been called to glorify Jesus Christ. Those who have been called to glorify Jesus Christ are known as Christians. What things is God allowing in your life in order to glorify Jesus? For me, one of the most powerful things was 13 months of unemployment.
