The Book of Revelation by Chuck Missler – Hour 10 – Revelation 4-5

This week’s lesson took us to the throne room of God in Heaven.   We looked at the Harpazo (Rapture) and saw that the churches are before the throne in Heaven in chapter 4 of Revelation.   The fulfillment of the Jewish wedding is perfectly displayed in the relationship between Christ and His bride (the church). It wasn’t in this lesson, but rather in Chuck Missler’s 2 hour teaching on the Rapture where he said something like the following in support of a pre-tribulation rapture:   Christ wouldn’t say let’s get married then I’ll beat you for a while and then we’ll go out to dinner!   WOW!   If I weren’t already a pre-tribulationist, I would be now. We discussed the seven raptures in the Scriptures and the physics of immortality.   We also talked about the doctrine of imminency – Are you prepared for Christ’s return at any moment ?   That’s what imminence is all about. Dr. Missler provides a sizable list of Scriptures having to do with the R...

The Book of Revelation by Chuck Missler – Hour 9 – Laodicea

Dr. Missler has said repeatedly over the last seven weeks that you can profile any church today based on chapters two and three of the book of Revelation.   The more I study these churches of the past, the more I see their pattern in the churches I’ve attended throughout my life. We are approaching the end of life as we know it.   Are you heeding the warnings to the seven churches?   Are you nurturing the qualities for which Jesus commended these people?   Are you using His Word as a mirror to examine your life and change you?   How will studying these seven letters change your life? Christ’s seven epistles of Revelation parallel Paul’s epistles to the churches.   The letter to Ephesus parallels the book of Ephesians, the I learned recently from another study that some scholars believe there is a correlation between the seven kingdom parables of Matthew 13 and the letters to the churches of Revelation.   The church of Laodicea corresponds ...

The Book of Revelation by Chuck Missler – Hour 8 – Philadelphia

I am excited to study the letter to the church of Philadelphia because it is the only letter that promises the people will be kept out of the Great Tribulation.   I want to see positive parallels between this church and my own.   I want to see the commended qualities manifest in my life. To be a loyal ambassador is my desire.   I don’t want to take the name of the Lord in vain and cast a shadow upon Him because of my poor ambassadorship.   I want to be missionary minded.   My “church” is very missionary minded.   Philadelphia’s prophetic profile in representative of the Missionary Church and the evidence shows that this church is here on the earth, today.   Does that give you chills? I learned recently from another study that some scholars believe there is a correlation between the seven kingdom parables of Matthew 13 and the letters to the churches of Revelation.   The church of Philadelphia corresponds to the parable of the pearl of gr...

The Book of Revelation by Chuck Missler – Hour 7 – Sardis

Sardis is reputed to be one of the oldest cities in Asia.   It was also one of the greatest cities in the world at one time.   It was situated on a hill 1000 feet above the valley of Hermus, and appeared to be impregnable and this instilled a false sense of security in its occupants.   This led them to be less watchful.   It also led to an enemy army discovering a vulnerability and conquering the city…five times ( to the Persians in 549 BC, the Ionians in 501 BC, Alexander the Great in 334 BC, Antigonus in 322 BC and the Seleucids in 214 BC). The title Christ chose to address this letter showcases the seven Spirits of God, aka the Holy Spirit.   Dr. Missler mentions that the Holy Spirit is a major cause of division in the church due to the discomfort many denominations have with the Holy Spirit.   The Holy Spirit is awesome!   His power is amazing!   I know groups that have issues with aspects of the Holy Spirit like speaking in tongues. ...
