First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Susan May Warren and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Sunrise" to
review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate
the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
I just finished reading “Sunrise” by Susan May Warren. It is the first installment in her brand new Sky King Ranch series. Susie took me to Alaska in these pages for an adventure that had me crying out for the next book as I closed the back cover! This book has everything: hockey and poachers and bears, oh my!
Sky King Ranch was Dodge Kingston’s home growing up. He had it all: youth, a plan for the future
and a great girl. But one event changed
everything and set Dodge’s life on a different course. Ten years later, he reluctantly returns to
his childhood home to find lots of changes.
And things he thought were changed, like his feelings for the girl he
left behind, not so much.
Echo Yazzie wants Dodge’s forgiveness for her part in the family blow-up that sent Dodge away. And when a woman goes missing and these childhood best friends team up to find her, opportunities to forgive – and experience new challenges – present themselves.
This book is action-packed and suspenseful and sprinkled with valuable life lessons and a little romance. I haven’t read fiction in a while, and this was a great book with which to break that fast! My only complaint is that I have to wait for book two!
