The Ology by Marty Machowski

The Ology

Children's Nonfiction
New Growth Press

Litfuse, New Growth Press, and Marty Machowski are pleased to offer a new way to teach your kids the importance of theology.

In the cellar of an old stone cathedral, two children discover an ancient book called The Ology. The beautifully illustrated storybook ushers them into a story of adventure, mystery, and wonder in which they discover life-changing truths about God, themselves, and the world around them. The first illustrated systematic theology book designed especially for grade-school children, The Ology includes built-in adaptations for use with younger or older children, so that entire families can enjoy learning about God together.

Advance Praise

I'm always on the lookout for resources that will serve my grandkids, and I've just found another one. Marty Machowski has done it again! The Ology takes huge truths about God, Scripture, and Christ and him crucified and makes them accessible and appealing to young minds. I'll be passing this one out to all twelve of my grandkids.
---C. J. Mahaney, Sovereign Grace Church of Louisville
Every child---and every parent---is already a theologian. The question is what kind of theologian we will be. Will our children grow up learning sound doctrine, rightly dividing the word of truth? Or will they end up fashioning a god---and a theology---in their own image? There are many good theologians in the church today, and many teachers who love children. But few are a combination of both like Marty Machowski. I am delighted to commend this engaging resource to help all of us know and worship the God of the Bible!

Here's my review of this fabulous book:

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Marty Machowski and his publisher for sending me a copy of "The Ology" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
“The Ology” by Marty Machowski is one of the most beautiful storybooks I’ve ever seen.  It is a durable hardcover with substantial pages.  The illustrations are a beautifully muted watery color.  The font is elegant and makes you feel like you are reading an ancient and precious book.  This book is truly a treasure.  It will give me a basic knowledge of systematic theology that I can share with my future grandchildren.  And it will teach those future generations those basic principles at an early age so their theological knowledge will be rock solid by the time they get to be my age.  I wish someone had ready this book to me when I was little.

The theological concepts are presented in a very basic, understandable way.  Each story is surrounded by Scripture pertinent to the topic so you get the teaching straight from the source: the Word of God!  This is an amazing book that will be my “go to” storybook whenever I have grandkids.  And in the meantime, I’ll curl up on the couch and read it to myself.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
