Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes on the book of Genesis. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material.

Take a few minutes to savor Genesis Chapter 33. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations…
33:1-3 – Jacob continued to prepare for Esau’s attack.
33:4 – The brothers’ reunion brings them both to tears. Is Jacob crying for happiness, relief or maybe a bit of both?
33:5-7 – Esau meets his sisters-in-law, niece and nephews.
33:8-11 – Jacob insists Esau keep the gifts. Perhaps out of guilt over the past? Perhaps because the warm reception inspired him to be generous with the blessings God provided. Esau finally accepts. He appears to have grown up, too, and become a gracious man.
33:12-20 – Jacob still didn’t trust Esau. He let Esau believe he would follow him to Seir (in the SE), but instead, he went toward Shechem.
33:14 – Did Jacob ever intend to meet Esau in Seir? According to v. 17, No!
33:20 – God, the God of Israel (mighty is the God of Israel) – El Elohe Israel.
What attributes of God have you observed in your study today? How will this change your relationship with Him?
