2.Grace and Justification entered the world through Jesus Christ.  (15-17)

Principle:  Jesus Christ offers abundant grace and righteousness.

3.The disobedience of one made many sinners, but the obedience of One will make many righteous.  (18-21)

Principle:  Jesus’ obedience made justification and eternal life accessible.

Subject Sentence (10-word sentence with proper structure showing exactly where you are in Scripture):

Paul tells the Romans: Adam brought death, Jesus brought life.

Aim (“To Cause My Audience To…” Know, See, etc.):

TCMATK Grace, justification, righteousness and eternal life comes only through Jesus Christ.

Application (not yes or no question.  Meant to bring about life change):

1.Where is sin and death reigning in your life and how will you surrender control of these things to Christ today?  (In some of my attitudes and a lack of self-control in the areas of eating and exercise.  I thank God for revealing truth to me which is breaking down those attitudes and I pray that God will empower me to produce that fruit of self-control.)

2.How has receiving the grace and justification of Jesus Christ transformed your life and how will you show Him your gratitude? (My life is transformed in that I focus more on God and Christ and others and less on myself than I used to.  I show my thanks by praying for the ability and desire to serve Him sacrificially, suffer joyfully and love as He’s asked me to.)

3.How has seeing others following Jesus’ example of obedience helped you obey Him, too?  (I want to be like Jesus, so His example motivates me to pray that God will do those things in me, too, so I look like Jesus.)

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
