Wonderstruck – Week One – The Wonder of Divine Expectation

This week, we’re memorizing  Psalm 77:11

I was wonderstruck this week by…the weather in Las Vegas.  We don’t see a lot of rain, but it has poured off-and-on over the last week!  We’re seeing incredible clouds and rainbows.  We’re experiencing cooler than normal temperatures.  God amazes me with His provision and care.  One of our gals took our small group Bible study to Facebook with a video of leatherback turtles hatching at the beach!  I was thoroughly Wonderstruck by that!

How have you noticed God’s nearness recently?  I’ve been under a lot of stress at work lately.  I have actually felt Him lift the tension from me.  Hallelujah!  I’m coming to terms with daily trust and moment-by-moment reliance on God, His sovereignty and His love for me.  He is huge…and amazing.  He truly takes my breath away.  How does the Lord take your breath away?

Our heavenly Father is seated on His throne right now.  Imagine this:  when you pray, the mighty King of the Universe leans forward on His throne to hear every word you utter.  He is interested in you.  He loves you.  He cares about what you think, what you feel, who you are.  He wants the best for you.  When you pray, you have His undivided attention.  He’s looking into your soul as you speak.  He’s completely engaged.  He wants to hear you.  He can’t wait to answer you.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
