Here is my review of this amazing read:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Susan May Warren and her publisher for sending me a copy of "My Foolish Heart" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

“My Foolish Heart” by Susan May Warren takes the reader back to Deep Haven, the beloved setting of three wonderful novels by the author. Issy is a special young woman. She has her own talk radio show where she counsels the lovelorn. She maintains her parents’ bedroom as a shrine since her mother’s tragic death in an automobile accident. She is prone to panic attacks and doesn’t leave her house. Who is she to give anyone romantic advice when she’s never even been on a date?

Caleb Knight has just arrived in Deep Haven to assume the role of High School football coach. He is perfectly suited to groom young men on the football field because he knows what it means to fight a battle and not give up. He will need to draw on his fighting spirit as he competes for the coaching job because Seb Brewster is back. The former star quarterback appears to be a shoe-in for the coaching position, but there are some skeletons that are about to come tumbling out of his closet.

Caleb calls in to “Miss Foolish Heart’s” radio show in the hopes of improving his relationship with his neighbor, Issy. Acting on the advice he’s given, things improve. But Issy is so smitten by “Boy Next Door” that she doesn’t realize Caleb is behaving exactly how she’s advising “Boy Next Door”. Besides, Issy never expected to find her own true love on the other side of her property’s fence.

The cast of characters from the previous Deep Haven novels make cameo appearances throughout this novel, making me want to re-read the old books. From the charming cover of the book to the love stories within its pages to the climactic football game that decides the fates of many, this story touches the heart and promotes an intimate relationship with God. “My Foolish Heart” is a wonderful weekend read that will leave you smiling as you turn the final page.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
