Scattered Petals by Amanda Cabot

Longing for adventure, Priscilla Morton leaves Boston in 1856 and heads for the Texas Hill Country, never dreaming that the adventure she seeks could have heartbreaking consequences. Although attracted to her, ranch foreman Zachary Webster knows Priscilla deserves a cultured East Coast gentleman, not a cowboy who's haunted by memories of his mistakes.

When necessity draws them together, Priscilla and Zach begin to forge a life filled with promise. But then the past intrudes.

Book 2 of the Texas Dreams series, Scattered Petals weaves a tale of drama, love, and second chances as beautiful as the Hill Country itself.

Here is my review of this amazing historical romance:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Amanda Cabot and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Scattered Petals" to review for them. I have always been grateful for this generosity, and I am trying to improve at being consistent in taking the time to thank these wonderfully giving individuals in a public forum. I really appreciate your time, effort and expense in making a reviewer copy available to me.

I have only just begun reading Amanda Cabot’s “Scattered Petals”, but my heart is already captivated by this historical romance novel. Priscilla is travelling with her parents from Boston to Texas to celebrate the second marriage of her deceased sister’s husband. What begins as an odd trip turns into a horrifying nightmare when their stagecoach is attacked. Can life begin again for Priscilla after such an ordeal?

It is almost impossible to write a comprehensive review for this novel without giving away the story, and I absolutely refuse to do that. Suffice it to say that the writing is superb, the story is compelling, the characters are engaging and this novel is difficult to put down. The wild west comes to life in full color as Priscilla rebuilds her life with the possible addition of true love. But can true love last between Priscilla and Zach when he has secrets of his own? My only warning is that you should pick a nice, long weekend to savor this tale.

Wow, great review. I like the tidbit that Elaine Barbieri said. It seems like Amanda Cabot would have to be very patient in writing this book. I think I might take a look! Thanks!

God bless,

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
