Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 04/27/09 He cares for you! Yes, you. Right where you are. Even with a past like yours. Even with a present like yours. He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants you to call on His name. He wants you to lean on Him. He wants you to allow Him to love you! What are you waiting for? Pray now. Speak your own words or borrow mine. Heavenly Father, thank You for chasing me. Thank You for loving me so much that You sent Jesus to die for my sins on the cross. I believe that He conquered death by rising from the dead. I accept that Jesus did this for me, and I ask Him to come into my heart and change my life. Teach me how to know You and love You as You want me to. In Jesus’ name I ask all of this. Amen.

Bible Study: As It Was In The Beginning - Genesis - Chapter 21

Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes on the book of Genesis. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material. Stacey Take a few minutes to savor Genesis Chapter 21. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations… 21:1-3 – “Miracles never cease.” See Exodus 15:11. (Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible – Higgs) 21:2 – Yes, the elderly have sex. It took 25 years to deliver Isaac as fulfillment of the promise God made to Abraham. We need to “trust in God, lean on Him, recognize His voice, and follow His commands no matter how long it may take to accomplish His will.” (Explore the Bible, Winter 2007-2008, Genesis 1-27 – 17:1-2, 17-19) 21:6 – “God has bought me laughter” – double meaning: God brought her Isaac, who was called laughter and he brought Sarah joy as well.

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 04/27/09 “When I wander through the desert and I'm longing for my home, all my dreams have gone astray. When I'm stranded in the valley and I'm tired and all alone, it seems like I've lost my way. I go running to your mountain where your mercy sets me free. You are my strong tower, Shelter over me, Beautiful and mighty, Everlasting King. You are my strong tower, Fortress when I'm weak, Your name is true and holy, And Your face is all I seek. In the middle of my darkness, in the midst of all my fear, You're my refuge and my hope. When the storm of life is raging and the thunder's all I hear, You speak softly to my soul.” Strong Tower – Kutless.

Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise from the ends of the earth. Isaiah 42:10 03/31/09 “The room grew still as she made her way to Jesus. She stumbles through the tears that made her blind. She felt such pain, some spoke in anger. Heard folks whisper, there's no place here for her kind. Still on she came, through the shame that flushed her face until at last she knelt before His feet. And though she spoke no words everything she said was heard, As she poured her love for the Master From her box of Alabaster. And I've come to pour my praise on Him like oil from Mary's Alabaster Box. Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears and I dry them with my hair. You weren't there the night He found me. You did not feel what I felt when He wrapped His love all around me. And you don't know the cost of the oil in my Alabaster Box. I can't forget the way life used to be. I was a prisoner to the sin that had me bound. I spent my days pouring my life w

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 06/01/09 What is so special about a good work? Well, since the only good thing is God, I’d say that’s pretty special. In light of that, this verse should probably be read like so: God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every GOD work. God equips us this way to do HIS work. Not just any work, but those things that Ephesians 2:10 says He has prepared in advance for us to do. The Lord offers us grace so that, at any time and in any place, we are thoroughly prepared to do the things that He has prepared in advance for us to do. And since He has prepared the assignment, and He has prepared us for the assignment, it would seem that this is the perfect recipe for good God work.
