Divisions (run-on sentence OK, direct verbiage from Scripture/Principles are Aims for each Division):

1.Not all Israelites accepted the good news. (14-17)

(good news about Christ + preach + hear = faith) + belief = calling on the one they believe in

Principle: Not everyone will accept the gospel message.

2.Israel heard, will envy a non-nation, will be angered by those who don’t understand. (18-19)

Principle: Non-Israelites can receive the gospel message.

3.Isaiah says God held His hands out to disobedient Israel, but is found by those who don’t seek or ask for Him. (20-21)

Principle: God reached out to Israel, but many (mostly) non-Israelites found Him.

Subject Sentence (10-word sentence with proper structure showing exactly where you are in Scripture):

Disobedient, obstinate Israel heard the good news not all accepted.

*The gospel’s gone into the earth, revealing God to non-seekers.

Aim (“To Cause My Audience To…” Know, See, etc.):

TCMATK Believers must be obedient to share the good news so others can hear, believe and call on Jesus as Lord.

Application (not yes or no question.  Meant to bring about heart change):

1.How does knowing that “not all who hear the gospel will accept it” free you to share your faith with others?

2.How does Israel’s response to the gospel impact your thoughts and your ministry?

3.How do you see God reaching out to the lost and how will your observations change the way you pray and serve others?

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
