HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible

A Bible that combines two hot trends: Bible journaling and adult coloring. Each Bible spread contains a line-drawn illustration that can be filled in by the reader with whatever colors they choose. Includes three varieties of illustrations: (1) filigree, (2) Scripture quotes, and (3) drawings that illustrate the topic of the corresponding Bible text.

Here's my review of this wonderful Bible:

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to B&H/Lifeway for sending me a copy of "HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
I was so excited to receive my HCSB Illustrator's Notetaking Bible!  I have made several attempts at Bible journaling with limited success.  My mental idea doesn’t always translate well to the margins of my Bible.  I have also enjoyed coloring since I was a child and have plunged full on into adult coloring.  This wonderful version of the Scriptures has lots of room in the margins for original drawings or actual notes.  There is also lots of pre-printed art in the margins to color.  The pre-printed art is pale enough that if you really want to design your own artwork, you can draw right over it.

My only issue with this book is that the lines where they appear in the margins are fairly dark.  If they were as light as the pre-printed drawings, I would be able to draw right over them after using them to line up my lettering.
In any case, this is a wonderful Bible.  It’s not just for journaling.  It has maps and a mini concordance and other tools as well.  What a great way to record your journey through the Word of God!

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
