First, I would like to extend a
heartfelt “Thank you” to Becky Wade and her publisher for sending me a copy of
"Meant to be Mine" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity.
I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer
copy available to me.
“Meant to be Mine” by Becky
Wade is an engaging, entertaining and uplifting read. The characters are refreshingly human and
encouraged me to look at myself and the people around me with fresh eyes. In our own way, each of us is broken and we
act out in that brokenness. We are also
all in need of a Savior. This book
taught me a lot about re-establishing trust and offering second chances,
something I find I’m in need of at this moment of my life.
Celia Park has been in love with Ty Porter since high
school. Years later, she still feels
that spark but now Ty feels it, too when they bump into each other at the National
Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas where he’s riding bulls. Acting on those feelings leads them to an
impulsive decision, a wedding chapel and an “epic” tale of Ty chasing his dreams
while Celia gives up on hers to be responsible.
This is book #2 in the Porter Family Series, but “Meant to
be Mine” reads perfectly well as a stand-alone novel. I do, however, recommend you read Bo Porter’s
story in Wade’s novel “Undeniably Yours”.
On a trivial note, this entertaining read is based on a false premise,
so anyone hoping to live out this fantasy will have to be less impulsive than
Ty and Celia and plan a bit better. I am
a long-term resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and I myself was married to my
husband here 27 years ago. You used to
be able to get a marriage license here 24/7, but since September 3, 2006, the
marriage license bureau closes at midnight.
Sorry, impulsive nuptial-seekers, you’ll need to pick up that license
before the bureau closes if you want to get married in one of our 24-hour
wedding chapels.
