“Once Upon A Prince” by Rachel Hauck is the wonderful, heartwarming first installment in the new Royal Wedding series. Susanna just ended a 12-year relationship. While recovering from that disturbance to her life plan, she learns that she is going to have to move out of her home. Being thrust into the unexpected seems to ignite a confidence in God. She doesn’t realize Nate is a prince when she meets him. These two develop an easy friendship that turns to true love for the prince. But this love cannot be a reality for the future king.

Prince Nathaniel’s description of Susanna made me realize the kind of person I want to be. Susanna’s prayers brought tears to my eyes. This story is a beautifully crafted modern-day fairy tale that will appeal to the little princess in every woman who cracks the cover on this book.

On a side-note, Blake Shelton is a baritone.

Homiletics . By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons. I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations. The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying. BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures. I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended. I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process! So keep practicing. Keep sharing and discussing. Welcome to Boot Camp! For the next seven weeks we will be training with our weapons (God’s Word and prayer) in preparation for the battle of our lives and the lives of others!
