Bible Study: Coming Out Of Bondage - Exodus - Chapter 24


Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes on the book of Exodus. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material.

24:7 – the Book of the Covenant was Exodus 20:22-23:19.

24:9-10 – WOW! They saw God! Did they glimpse His face? Or only His feet? Perhaps they kept their heads lowered out of humility and that’s why only the feet are mentioned.

24:11 – God’s hand is also mentioned – did they see His hands? Or is this simply a metaphor? Does this statement imply that they saw God’s face? See Exodus 33:20.

Would you be able to eat and drink in this situation?

24:15-18 – Moses waited on the mountain until God called him into His presence.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
