A Memory Between Us by Sarah Sundin

Can they overcome the past to find a brighter future together?

Major Jack Novak has never failed to meet a challenge--until he meets army nurse Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. When Jack lands in the army hospital after a plane crash, he makes winning Ruth's heart a top-priority mission. But he has his work cut out for him. Not only is Ruth focused on her work in order to support her orphaned siblings back home, she also is determined not to give her heart to any man.

As the danger and tension of World War II rise to a fever pitch, Jack and Ruth will need each other more than ever. Can Jack break down her defenses? Or are they destined to go their separate ways?

From the English countryside to the perilous skies over France, A Memory Between Us takes you on a journey through love, forgiveness, and sacrifice.

"Fans of historical romance will be captivated by this exciting story. From the first page, Sarah Sundin planted me in the midst of World War II and into the lives of Major Jack Novak and Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. Readers will be rooting for these two patriots, who know how to defend their country but have a great deal to learn about love. Sarah takes us on a captivating romantic ride through the fascinating and horrifying days of World War II. A must-read."--Bonnie Leon, author, the Sydney Cove series and Alaskan Skies series

Here is my review of this wonderful work of romantic historical fiction:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Sarah Sundin and her publisher for sending me a copy of "A Memory Between Us" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

“A Memory Between Us” by Sarah Sundin brings to lifelike fiction the stories we’ve all heard about wounded soldiers and their nurses falling in love. Set during World War II, this beautifully written historical Christian romance finds Major Jack Novak in a military hospital following a plane crash. Here he encounters Lieutenant Ruth Doherty, an Army nurse, and the sparks begin to fly.

Book Two in the Wings of Glory series is a memorable read. Sundin creates characters you want to interact with. Her dialogue and prose are incredibly true to life that the reader almost feels as if they are invading the privacy of the characters. Godly character plays a strong part in these books. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a...
