Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes on the book of Genesis. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material.

Take a few minutes to savor Genesis Chapters 36 & 37. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations…
36:1-43 – Esau’s descendants.
36:6 – Did Esau actually leave Canaan while Jacob was in Paddan Aram? Or was he moving when he met Jacob in chapter 33? 33:16 says that Esau started on his way back to Seir, and there is no mention of women or children or cattle traveling with them, so this leads me to believe that Esau had already relocated to Seir and this was an assembled army.
36:7 – This verse implies that they spent some time together and would have remained together if possible. See 13:6 for a similar dilemma regarding Abram and Lot. The reason they couldn’t remain together was the availability of water.
What attributes of God have you observed in your study today? How will this change your relationship with Him?
