Getting Comfy: Ice Breakers #9 - Prayer Tree

Arbor Day is April 24th, 2009. In honor of the celebration, here is a related Ice Breaker for your small group.

This idea requires quite a bit of preparation, but can be modified to put together quickly.

Set up an artificial tree at your group meeting. Place a leaf on each branch of the tree that contains the name (and perhaps a photo and/or prayer request) of one of the ladies in your group. Before leaving the meeting, each woman takes a leaf from the tree and prays for that woman during the week. At the next meeting, enjoy a time of fellowship where everyone can share who they were praying for and how God has moved in their lives.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves.
