“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
05/15/09 The heart is an amazing thing. It is the center of spiritual life. When we talk about the heart, we are referring to the soul. It houses our passions, desires, appetites, affections and motivations. Jeremiah 17:9 says that it is deceitful above all things. But the Lord says that He will give us a new heart in Ezekiel 11:19 – a heart that isn’t hard like stone, but soft and teachable and able to love others like Christ commanded us to do. Our heart reveals our true character – good or bad. To whom have you given your heart? Is it in the hands of the Savior, soft and pliable, being molded into the likeness of Him Who laid down His life for you? If not, don’t waste another moment. Pray that He will take your heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh and that He would place His Holy Spirit inside to guide and teach you.
