Bible Study: Revelation - What Was, What Is, What Is To Come - Chapter 22

Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material. Stacey Take a few minutes to savor Revelation Chapter 22. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations. 22:1 — there is a river that runs down the center of the city from God's throne. 22:2 — see Psalm 1:1-3; Ezekiel 47:1-12. There is a tree of life on each side of the river. It bears 12 crops of fruit, one per month, implying that the calendar (which is really no longer needed because this is eternity) has 12 months. Will there be seasons? Is that why months are mentioned? I wonder what kind of fruit it will be. Apples? A different fruit each month? Something we’ve never seen or tasted before? See Genesis 2:9 (AMP) 22:2 – see Psalm 1:1-3; Ezekiel 47:1-12. 22:3 — th

REVIEW: Lonestar Secrets by Colleen Coble

Colleen Coble’s “Lonestar Secrets” is a wonderful story. The common thread woven through this “Lonestar” romance series is a marriage of (in)convenience. This time, the bride and groom are Shannon and Jake. Shannon is no stranger to pain. Her parents were flighty treasure hunters and the uncle who “raised” her after their deaths was less than kind. She became pregnant as a teenager by a handsome cowboy who promptly left her when he learned the news. When she delivered twins and the woman in the next room lost her baby girl, a well-meaning nurse gave one of Shannon’s babies to the other mother, telling Shannon that one of her girls had died. Jake is no stranger to pain, either. He is a widower raising his young daughter alone. When Shannon returns to be the town veterinarian, and their girls meet, they notice the resemblance is uncanny. When they learn that the girls are actually Shannon’s twins, they choose to marry to keep the family together. Not an ideal situation. But ne

REVIEW: Bon Appetit by Sandra Byrd

Here is my review of this wonderful novel: Sandra Byrd enchants the Francophile within with her novel, “Bon Appetit”! This is the delightful continuation of Lexi’s story that began in “Let Them Eat Cake”. This time, she is in Paris working for her former boss’ (Luc’s) family bakery and going to a prestigious school to learn baking techniques from French masters. France is fabulous, but Lexi misses home. Her relationship with Dan had barely begun when she left for Europe. And sometimes it’s difficult to fit in with the new crowd. Some, however, have welcomed her with open arms, like Philippe and Celine. Will Philippe steal Lexi’s heart? Will France? This is a fabulous read! Walking beside Lexi, I relived my childhood challenges of frequent moves and having to make new friends. I also learned a bit about French culture. I could almost taste the pastry as I read. The recipes included in the book helped. I fell in love with several more characters. And, because of the cliffhanger in this b

What is your favorite part of a wedding celebration? 21:1 — compare with Genesis 1:1, 10. new heaven and earth, no sea. Why no sea? The Life App SB may offer a possible explanation: "The sea in John's time was viewed as dangerous and changeable. It was also the source of the beast (13:1)." Also, remember the notes on 13:1 that the Jews believed the sea was evil. The Int'l Bible

REVIEW: Every Now and Then by Karen Kingsbury

“Every Now and Then” by Karen Kingsbury is the third installment of her beautifully written 9/11 Series. Being a native New Yorker, myself, I am especially touched by these stories and the people they represent. This fictional tale is about Alex Brady, whose father was a FDNY firefighter killed on that fateful day. Alex has made it his mission to take down terrorists as a law enforcement officer. He has never healed from his father’s death, and left everyone he loved behind in New York when he moved to California. Holly loved Alex back in high school, but she was unable to get through to him after the tragedy. Now that they’re both in California, will Holly be able to finally get through to Alex and help him heal? Or is Alex beyond hope of recovery? Karen Kingsbury is one of the master storytellers of our generation! Her characters breathe, her situations have color and sound and smell. When you pick up one of her books, you are transported and transformed. The tears that her stories i
