Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes on the book of Genesis. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material.

Take a few minutes to savor Genesis Chapter 9. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations…
9:3 – God institutes the eating of meat. (See 1:29-30)
9:8-13 – “the ark became a symbol of God’s grace, for God used the ark as an instrument of deliverance to preserve both human and animal life on the earth.” (Explore the Bible, Winter 2007-2008, Genesis 1-27)
9:8-17 – Royal Grant Covenant (unconditional – a King’s grant) – Noahic – promise by God to never again destroy the earth by flood. (NIVSB)
9:13 – rainbow – Hebrew is literally “bow.” See 27:3; 48:22. “Probably represents the bow with which God shoots the arrows of His lightning bolts toward earth.” (NIVSB)
9-20 – “True freedom is found only in God.” See Psalm 119:32. (Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible – Higgs)
9:22 – Ham’s guilt was because he didn’t cover his father. Instead, he broadcast the issue to his brothers.
9:24 – Youngest was Ham. (Great Characters of the Bible)
9:24-27 – A prayer of Noah praising God, condemning Ham (Canaan), declaring Shem’s superiority, and asking for God’s blessing upon Japheth.
What attributes of God have you observed in your study today? How will this change your relationship with Him?
