May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
03/13/09 For as long as I can remember, I thought peace meant relaxing, passive, tranquil, requiring little effort. Then, I learned the REAL meaning of the word through scripture. Isaiah 66:12 says that peace is like a river. Take a moment to contemplate that. If you can visit a river, do so. If you can’t, have you ever seen a river? Imagine it. Rivers are ever-flowing. There are some areas that are calmer where you would simply float through in a boat or tube. But there are other areas that are raging rapids where serious damage can happen to property and person. THAT is peace! It is ever-moving, active and alive, with moments of floating through and other moments of heart-pumping, hair-raising white-water action. Just hang on to Jesus, the eternal life preserver!
