“I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
03/06/09 I can almost feel my heart pounding in my chest. My husband says it’s probably stress. With everything going on in the world today, that doesn’t surprise me. Besides, I do come from a long line of worry-warts. And I have been overweight for several years. I was a smoker, but I quit 11 years ago. I could eat better and exercise more, I suppose. But there’s no point in worrying. One thing I know for sure is that God is in control. His plans for me are for my good. My hope is assured in a secure eternal future. So, I will be a bit more deliberate about what I eat and how much I exercise. But I will keep my heart focused on my Heavenly Father, who loves and cares for me, and tells me not to worry (see Matthew 7). After all, when my heart finally gives out, I know where I am going.
