The scripture verse that touched me in particular today is – Ecclesiates 4:11
What a wonderful verse! I know I’ve read it before, but it seem like I’m seeing it for the first time, today. I want to be a warm partner, Lord. In light of this, I cannot see why Paul would say it is better not to marry (1 Corinthians 7:1). Actually, I do understand his reasoning. But snuggling sounds wonderful! Make me that kind of nurturing wife, Father. Remove my tendency to be cold and manipulative. Thank You for hearing me, Papa. I love You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Love completes each other…
I love that scene in the movie “Jerry Maguire” where Rene Zellweger and Tom Cruise are in the elevator with an obviously deaf couple and Rene’s character is “eavesdropping” on their conversation, watching them sign. There is a moment when Rene’s character’s breath catches – it is ever so subtle – a beautiful moment, and you know that something spectacular has just happened. When the couple leaves, Tom’s character asks what the deaf man said. Rene’s character explains that he said, “You complete me.” WOW! Everyone wants that kind of love. Don’t we? But ARE WE that kind of love? Do you take time to evaluate how you are completing your spouse?
