Day Thirty-Four – The Love Dare: One Wife’s Journey


Back in October 2008...The scripture verse that touched me in particular today is –

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:6

Love celebrates godliness…

Hallelujah! Thank You, Lord, that my husband is able to keep me accountable in certain areas. I pray that we will continue to grow in You and sharpen each other. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

That was then, this is now…

(Love) does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:6

Love celebrates righteousness. Love rejoices in truth. Love doesn’t go along with evil. Sorry, Bonnie and Clyde. Love doesn’t engage in cover-ups. Love uncovers truth. According to this verse, it appears that evil is the opposite of truth. That’s deep…

How to apply this? Always tell the truth. Always seek the truth. Where can you always find the truth? In the Word of God! Spend time with the Lord in the Bible every day.

Lord, I want to be saturated in Your truth. I desire the same for my husband. Draw us to Your Word every day. And on days when we are disobedient and ignore Your Word, quicken Your Spirit within us to speak Your truth into our very souls! Make our ears attentive to Your voice. Teach us to always be honest with You, each other and ourselves. In Christ’s name. Amen.

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
