This week, we’re memorizing…Matthew
11:28-30
I was wonderstruck
this week by…the fact that our lesson on rest this week corresponded
PERFECTLY with our upcoming Sunday School lesson on rest! Is the Lord trying to tell me something? Maybe the “rest” lesson is for the lady in
our group who is having surgery tomorrow?
I think we all need to realize the importance of rest. We also need to come to terms with the fact
that rest doesn’t necessarily mean inactivity.
The Bible says God’s peace is like a river. Well, I’ve seen some mighty fast flowing
rivers in my day. Sure, there are calm
pools along the way, but there are raging rapids, too.
How have you noticed
God’s nearness recently? With all of
scheduling additions recently, I’m struggling with whether I’m in God’s will or
my own. I feel His peace even though I’m
incredibly uncomfortable. I loved the
exercise in the homework this week where we were supposed to compile a list of
activities in the Bible that could not have taken place if not for the six days
of creation. For example, if God hadn’t
created dry land and water, neither Jesus nor Peter could have walked on water
and Jesus couldn’t have calmed the storm.
What other activities can you find?
