Fervent by Priscilla Shirer PLUS GIVEAWAY!

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Priscilla Shirer and B&H/Lifeway for sending me a copy of "Fervent:  A Woman's Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer is a must read for every Christian who is serious about positive change in their prayer life!  The enemy has a strategy for attacking God’s people and we must be prayed up so we are not preyed upon in these areas.  Each chapter focuses on one area that may be vulnerable to attack:  your Passion, Focus, Identity, Family, Past, Fears, Purity, Pressures, Hurts and Relationships.  Each area is flushed out with plenty of Scripture to empower that area of your life.

One of my favorite features of this book are the perforated cards in the back that are meant to be torn out and tacked on the wall of your “prayer closet” after you’ve written out your prayer strategy for each topic.  “Fervent” will help make the people of God into battle-ready prayer warriors!

Now I'd like to hear about the victories or challenges you've experienced in your prayer life.  Leave a comment to be entered to win a copy of this book!  Random drawing will take place on 6 November 2015.  Please make sure you include your email address so I can contact you.

My challenge in my prayer life is making time for prayer. Usually I try to get up before the children do, but sometimes I spend more time reading my Bible then praying.

I don't know the most effective way to pray. It's something I haven't studied enough and would like to.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
