In Her Darkest Hours, Is He the Man She Needs? Lily Young longs to find her lost sister or will die trying. Heedless of any danger, she searches logging camps and towns, posing as a photographer's assistant. And then she arrives in Harrison, Michigan--and the sights of Connell McCormick. Connell is determined to increase the fortune of his lumber-baron father and figures as long as he's living an upright life, that's what matters. But when Lily arrives in town she upends his world, forcing him to confront the truth that dangerous men have gained too much power while good men turn a blind eye. Here is my review of this lovely story:
First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Jody Hedlund and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Unending Devotion" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
“Unending Devotion” by Jody Hedlund is full of drama, humor and romance. This beautiful novel follows Lily Young, posing as a photographer’s assistant, traveling from logging camp to logging camp in Michigan while she searches for her sister, Daisy, who pursued a questionable profession in the hopes of making enough money so the sisters could be together. She never thought that she would meet a man who would make her heart race and her stomach flutter.
Connell McCormick is the handsome, burly “shanty boy” who came to Lily’s rescue when a pair of loggers began fighting over her the first night of her arrival in Harrison. What Lily doesn’t know is that he is the camp manager and the son of the logging camp owner, and not a “shanty boy” at all. Despite his growing attraction to Lily, Connell tries to keep his heart at a distance because of his past experience with love.
“Unending Devotion” is a lovely story that will entertain and enchant.
