First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Zondervan for sending me a copy of "Rock Solid Faith Study Bible for Teens" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
The Rock Solid Faith Study Bible For Teens is a cool resource. The NIV text is understandable and engaging for a younger audience – it was the Bible translation I fell in love with at 16 although the wording does seem a bit different from what I'm used to reading. The features of this particular Bible edition is a focus on building a rock solid foundation of faith and relationship with God.
Rock Solid PROMISES showcases what is (and is not) promised in scripture. Rock Solid PRINCIPLES gives practical application for Biblical concepts. Rock Solid TRUTHS examines the Christian worldview and features explorations of other religions. Rock Solid PLANS reveals God’s plan for daily Christian living. Unshaken PEOPLE offers Biblical examples of perseverance. Unshaken GOD reveals God’s character and attributes.
This incredible Bible also includes reading plans, a topical index, a concordance and maps for reference and study. The only thing I’m used to seeing in study Bibles that is not included in this volume is a collection of study notes at the bottom of each page and lots of footnotes and cross-references. There are basic footnotes, though. This would be a good starter Bible to build faith on a foundation of who God is and how we can live to please Him. I believe that is a valuable place to begin. I would’ve liked to have this for my first Bible. If it had been, I think I’d know God’s promises inside-out.
