Now that my Bible Study group has finished Priscilla
Shirer’s Armor of God study, I need to keep moving in the right direction. Continuing this series of blog posts taken
from the list Priscilla included in her 6th week of Bible study
regarding our identity and inheritance in Christ. I pray these reflections will open your eyes
to how much God loves you. Read them as
if you wrote them. Meditate on
them. God bless you.
I am Christ’s ambassador
In 2 Corinthians 5:20, we are told that we are Christ’s
ambassadors. An ambassador is a representative. As ambassadors, God makes His appeal through
us. “What appeal is He making?” you
might ask. We appeal to the lost to
establish a relationship with God. We
implore others on Christ’s behalf to be reconciled to the Father.
The above is definitely exciting, but I’m almost jumping out
of my skin after reading the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary definition of
“embassador”. According to the
definition, I am a minister of the highest rank employed by the Prince of
Peace, residing permanently at a foreign court, to manage the public concerns
of His state and representing His power and dignity. Pow!
Did your brain explode, too? Just
like an Ambassador to a foreign country represents his home country’s
government and interests, I am here on the foreign soil of earth representing
the interests of Heaven and Christ. What
a blessing! I’m going to go chew on this
one for a while.
