I am about embark on a blogging adventure of journaling for 40 days on my journey through the popular devotional, “The Love Dare” by Alex and Stephen Kendrick. For any of you who have seen the movie “Fireproof” starring Kirk Cameron, you have heard of this book as it was an integral part of the plot of this story about a firefighter, his wife and the restoration of their failing marriage relationship. But even if you haven’t seen the film, this is a wonderful devotional for a husband or a wife. Even if your marriage relationship is a happy one where you and your spouse are already Christians (like my 22-year old relationship with my husband), this is still a wonderful devotional.
I expect that everyone’s journey through “The Love Dare” will be unique since each of us is one-of-a-kind. We are at different points in our walk with the Lord, so He will use the same passage of scripture and the same devotional writing to teach each of us something slightly different. In fact, the journey that I’m going to share with you over the next 40 days actually took place when I first read “The Love Dare” about 10 months ago. But I am fully expecting the Lord to teach me something brand new this time around, which I plan to share with you as well. I would be honored if you’d join me on this challenging expedition and leave your own comments on my posts about your own voyage through “The Love Dare”.
Tomorrow, I begin my story…
