Please forgive this rough draft format, as these are my raw study notes. I felt a great sense of urgency to publish them rather than waiting until I had the time to pretty them up. Thank you and I pray that God blesses you through this material.

Take a few minutes to savor Revelation Chapter 10. Then return here and ponder the thoughts, answer the questions, and be sure to leave comments about your own revelations.
10:1 — mighty angel — Is this Michael? See Daniel 12:1. Maybe not. NIV, KJV and AMP say, "another mighty angel" — if Michael was one of the 7 trumpet blowers (see note on 8:2), this may not be him.
Surrounded by a cloud — indicating God's presence.
Rainbow — a reminder that God will not destroy the earth by flood. See Genesis 9:13.
Fire — pyr — fire, flames (Strong's 4442/KWSB 4786). Describing angels legs like fiery pillars. See Revelation 1:15.
What do you think the fire represents? Does this appear to represent judgment due to sin? Can you see the fire destroy what has been corrupted by sin?
Verse 2 shows left foot on land and right foot on sea — both land and sea are judged.
10:3 — Angel roars like a lion. Lions usually roar as a warning.
The seven thunders answered — what are the seven thunders?
10:4 — John told not to write down the thunders' response.
10:5 — See Deuteronomy 32:40; Daniel 12:6-7 (AMP)
10:6 — the angel lifts his right hand to heaven — is he praising God as he swears his oath?
"...no more delay!" — According to 11:1, the seventh trumpet won't be blown for at least 42 months. (Is this Michael's trumpet?) But now we have a decisive calendar: The two witnesses prophesy for 1260 days. They're killed and lie in the street three days. God will raise them from the dead, take them to heaven, there will be an earthquake that kills 7000 people, then the trumpet will sound, ushering in Christ's reign on earth.
10:7 — See Daniel 12:6-7 (AMP)
10:9 — See Ezekiel 2:8-9; 3:1-3 (AMP)
10:9-10 — eating the scroll — see Ezekiel 3:1. 10:11 — See Jeremiah 1:10 (AMP)

- Remember that the main message of the book of Revelation is the infinite love, power and justice of the Lord Jesus Christ. How is this evident in today’s text?
- What attributes of God do you see in this chapter?
- What scripture seemed to be God speaking directly to you? What is He teaching you in these verses? How does He want you to respond?
