Here is my review of this heartwarming holiday devotional:

First, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Ace Collins and his publisher for sending me a copy of "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
"The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Ace Collins is so much more than a Christmas devotional book!  This amazing read will have you reminiscing during your quiet time about holidays past with its 31-derful devotional offerings.  Each day there’s something new to discover or something old to rediscover.

Filled with beautiful memories, treasured hymns, creative gift ideas, recipes for eating and for pampering, poems, Christmas carols and holiday cheer, this little book will prepare your heart to celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world!

As part of our review, I was asked to share a favorite holiday memory.  I loved holidays as a child in New York when my Mom would pick me up from school early and the whole family would drive into the City to see The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.  Then we'd all go to my Grandparents' house for dinner.  Christmas always meant veal cutlets.  Yum!  I can smell them cooking right now!  I always snuck a piece or two as they were cooling.  I had a great childhood!

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a...

Armor of God – Week One – Sizing Up The Enemy

Welcome to Boot Camp!   For the next seven weeks we will be training with our weapons (God’s Word and prayer) in preparation for the battle of our lives and the lives of others!   And we will be learning how to equip ourselves with the Armor of God. Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God Bible study is a MUST-DO for EVERY BIBLE STUDENT!   I don’t mean to shout, but I can’t emphasize this enough!!!   We are at war boys and girls.   And our enemy wants to keep us in the dark about that fact.   If he can convince us that he does not exist or that our God is not good or that we are not loved and treasured by the King and Creator of the Universe, he wins the battle.   But can I share something with you?   OUR ENEMY HAS ALREADY LOST THE WAR!!!!!   His time is short and he is grasping at anything we leave dangling in an attempt to drag us down.   So let’s not leave too much dangling. My church begins the Armor of God study tonight (9/9/15). ...
