Principle:
Our mission, like John’s, is to point to Jesus Christ the Messiah.
2
35-51
Jesus Draws Disciples
Principle:
Our mission is to share Christ with others.

Subject Sentence (10-word sentence with proper structure):

Jesus begins drawing disciples after John calls Him God’s Lamb.

Aim:

TCMATK Jesus is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world.

Application:

1
What is your testimony about the Christ?
Who are you in Christ?
How do you point others to Jesus?
If you are in relationship with Jesus, what evidence do you see that He has baptized you with the Holy Spirit?  If you are not in relationship with Jesus, what is keeping you from receiving Him and believing?  (your presence here indicates you’re being drawn to Him)
2
How might you point others to dependence on God rather than dependence on you?
Describe in detail the time you spend with Jesus. (when, where, how, how long)
How did Jesus draw you to Himself?
Who are the people you told when you first discovered the Savior?
When and how did you learn Jesus really “knew” you?
What great things have you seen since entering into relationship with Christ?

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a...

Armor of God – Week One – Sizing Up The Enemy

Welcome to Boot Camp!   For the next seven weeks we will be training with our weapons (God’s Word and prayer) in preparation for the battle of our lives and the lives of others!   And we will be learning how to equip ourselves with the Armor of God. Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God Bible study is a MUST-DO for EVERY BIBLE STUDENT!   I don’t mean to shout, but I can’t emphasize this enough!!!   We are at war boys and girls.   And our enemy wants to keep us in the dark about that fact.   If he can convince us that he does not exist or that our God is not good or that we are not loved and treasured by the King and Creator of the Universe, he wins the battle.   But can I share something with you?   OUR ENEMY HAS ALREADY LOST THE WAR!!!!!   His time is short and he is grasping at anything we leave dangling in an attempt to drag us down.   So let’s not leave too much dangling. My church begins the Armor of God study tonight (9/9/15). ...
