I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.  “Buried Secrets” by Irene Hannon is an amazing and suspenseful murder story with rich, meaty characters that flesh out a complex plot.  Hannon’s writing builds suspense to a fever pitch that is equaled by the romantic tension between her leading man and woman.  She creates strong female characters that inspire and encourage. This is a great read! Detective Mac MacGregor is a former Navy SEAL who’s looking to slow down and start a family.  Police Chief Lisa Grant is also looking for respite from the insane life as a Chicago detective.  When these two are thrown together to investigate a cold case, they are drawn to each other more than professionally but agree to put any personal interest on hold until their business is put to rest.  They begin beating the bushes of an old investigation and end up with a deadly case.
