Chapter 13 is also part of the break between the sixth and
seventh trumpets. This chapter features
the Beast out of the Sea and the Beast out of the Earth. These two figures represent the pseudo-Christ
(Dr. Missler says this is a more accurate title than anti-Christ) and the false
prophet.
The pseudo-Christ is believed to be an Assyrian. He’s got a boastful mouth and will make war
with and overcome the believing Gentiles living at this time. One fascinating thing that Chuck mentions
repeatedly throughout the study is that the return of Christ is imminent, and
since Satan doesn’t know when the rapture is going to happen, but he knows that
when the rapture does happen he will have a very limited time to wreak havoc on
the earth and mankind, there must always be a person at the ready to become the
pseudo-Christ. I never thought about
this but it makes complete sense.
The false prophet is thought to be Jewish because of the
references to the beast coming out of the earth. He forms the third person of the Satanic
trinity (Satan, pseudo-Christ and false prophet). Signs and wonders will deceive the earth
dwellers.
Chuck also talks about the mark of the beast and the number
of the beast and gives us a Biblical snapshot of who this coming world leader
will be. But he also delivers some very
valuable advice: it is a complete waste
of time to speculate about who this coming world leader might be. Your time will be much better spent if you
focus your time and attention on the One True King, Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!
