Over the Edge by Mary Connealy

About the Book:

Seth Kincaid survived a fire in a cave, but he's never been the same. He was always a reckless youth, but now he's gone over the edge. He ran off to the Civil War and came back crazier than ever.

After the war, nearly dead from his injuries, it appears Seth got married. Oh, he's got a lot of excuses, but his wife isn't happy to find out Seth doesn't remember her. Callie has searched, prayed, and worried. Now she's come to the Kincaid family's ranch in Colorado to find her lost husband.

Callie isn't a long-suffering woman. Once she knows her husband is alive, she wants to kill him. She's not even close to forgiving him for abandoning her.

Then more trouble shows up in the form of a secret Seth's pa kept for years. The Kincaid brothers might lose their ranch if they can't sort things out. It's enough to drive a man insane--but somehow it's all making Seth see things more clearly. And now that he knows what he wants, no one better stand in his way.

Here's my review of this incredible third installment in the Kincaid Brides series:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Mary Connealy and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Over the Edge" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
Mary Connealy is one of the best Christian fiction writers of our generation. Her novels are packed with true grit, romance, suspense, history and humor. Her latest novel, “Over the Edge”, the third in the Kincaid Brides series, begins with an action-packed BANG! Literally. Callie Kincaid has been hunting down her low-down husband, Seth, for a year! Now that she’s found him – or has he found her? – she’s in no shape to kill him as she’d like to do.

Seth doesn’t remember Callie…or Connor, his baby son. But there is no denying the boy’s parentage since Seth sees his own blue eyes staring back at him from the babe’s face. Then the remaining family reunions begin as winter falls upon these Colorado ranchmen. Meanwhile, Jasper is still after Wendell Gilliland’s hidden stash of cash. And the rest of the Kincaids are an integral part of the story, as well. Each element adds potential to the Kincaids having one wild winter!

This exciting, engaging and hysterical read is a wonderful way to pass a rainy day on the couch or a relaxing vacation on the beach or even a weekend. Loaded with incredible characters, godly contemplations and outrageous plotlines, Mary Connealy’s books always make me laugh and leave me wanting her next book right now.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a...

Armor of God – Week One – Sizing Up The Enemy

Welcome to Boot Camp!   For the next seven weeks we will be training with our weapons (God’s Word and prayer) in preparation for the battle of our lives and the lives of others!   And we will be learning how to equip ourselves with the Armor of God. Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God Bible study is a MUST-DO for EVERY BIBLE STUDENT!   I don’t mean to shout, but I can’t emphasize this enough!!!   We are at war boys and girls.   And our enemy wants to keep us in the dark about that fact.   If he can convince us that he does not exist or that our God is not good or that we are not loved and treasured by the King and Creator of the Universe, he wins the battle.   But can I share something with you?   OUR ENEMY HAS ALREADY LOST THE WAR!!!!!   His time is short and he is grasping at anything we leave dangling in an attempt to drag us down.   So let’s not leave too much dangling. My church begins the Armor of God study tonight (9/9/15). ...
