Dear God, It's Me and It's Urgent by Marion Stroud

About the Book:

(Bedford, England) Take a break from whatever you're doing, sit down for a few moments and focus your thoughts and your heart on one or two of the prayers in this book. You'll be thankful that you did! Marion Stroud's prayerful meditations will take you to the Father's feet with the honest concerns of your own life.

In Dear God, It's Me you will find six sections that cover every aspect of a woman's life: A Woman Within, A Woman and Marriage, A Woman and Her Children, A Woman at Work, A Woman Who Cares, and A Woman Growing Older. The topics range from A Bride's Prayer on the eve of her wedding to Feeling Unwanted and such concerns as Blue Monday, Mid-Life Crisis, After Chemotherapy, and Bereavement. Singleness and marriage, parenting and career, caring for others and growing older ... with imagination and inspiration Marion Stroud offers prayers for every season of a woman's life.

I have returned to this book over and over in search of encouragement, direction and that extra insight we all go looking for in difficult times. Each time I've returned to these pages I have been deeply blessed. I hope you, too, will find comforting reminders here of your Heavenly Father's love for you as well as challenges that prompt you to surrender every care to His tender keeping. This book is a treasure.

Here is my review of this lovely and inspiring collection:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Marion Stroud and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Dear God, It's Me and It's Urgent" to review for them. I have always been grateful for this generosity, but haven’t been very consistent in taking the time to thank them in a public forum. I really appreciate your time, effort and expense in making a reviewer copy available to me.

“Dear God, It’s Me and It’s Urgent – Prayers for Every Season of a Woman’s Life” is a lovely collection of poems, stories, prayers, quotes and scriptures grouped together by subject matter. Marion Stroud’s collection of material is not just a beautiful volume to have sitting on a bedside table or your desk at work. It is a wonderful resource to start you on a path to praying for yourself and others when you may not be quite certain how to begin. Simply start be reading the snippets she’s collected for any topic, using it as a springboard for your own words. This is a truly exquisite book.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
