Now that my Bible Study group has finished Priscilla
Shirer’s Armor of God study, I need to keep moving in the right direction. Continuing this series of blog posts taken
from the list Priscilla included in her 6th week of Bible study
regarding our identity and inheritance in Christ. I pray these reflections will open your eyes
to how much God loves you. Read them as
if you wrote them. Meditate on
them. God bless you.
I am a temple in which God
dwells
According to 1 Corinthians 3:16, I am a temple where God
dwells. The Holy Spirit lives in
me. Hallelujah! That’s wonderful, but it makes me feel like I
should straighten up a little bit. It
makes me feel unclean. And I feel a
little ashamed at how unclean I am. But
the wonderful thing about this is the Holy Spirit Himself cleans me up.
It reminds me of when my husband and I lived in Virginia and
our first daughter was born. My Grandparents
came to visit and my Grandma kept up with all of the straightening up that I
was having difficulty staying on top of.
She taught me the value of drying out my kitchen sink – no water spots
looks really nice. She even cleaned my
coffee pot! I think I need to invite her
over – yes, she’s still alive (94 and still going strong) and my coffee pot is
in need of cleaning. But I digress…
The point is, cleaning me up is God’s job. And when He moves in and tabernacles in me
and in you, He does just that. That’s
one way you can tell who His people are: we change. He makes us more prayerful. He draws us to His Word. He gives us a hunger for Bible study and His
presence. He leads us to serve…sacrificially…unto
death. Wow!
He lives in me. And
I’m undergoing a great remodel. Praise
Jesus!
