It Had to Be You by Janice Thompson

A modern love story that will have readers laughing out loud!
The final installment in the Weddings by Bella series

Library Journal has called the Weddings by Bella series “satisfying” and “delightful.” RT Book Reviews has deemed it "a refreshing page-turner with loveable, off-the-wall- characters. One comical scenario after another will make you smile."

Full of the laugh-out-loud humor, Italian passion and Texas gumption that has made the previous books in the series a success, It Had to Be You is the final book in author Janice Thompson’s beloved Weddings by Bella series.

In It Had to Be You, Bella couldn't be happier that her long-feuding Aunt Rosa and Uncle Lazarro have finally admitted their love for one another and are getting married. Their forties-style wedding is sure to be a night to remember. But when the Rossi house begins to fill up with family from Italy—and an old mobster from New Jersey—life starts to get complicated. Will Lazarro's friend from the past drive the happy couple apart once more? And will Bella ever have time to think of her own rapidly-approaching wedding amidst the chaos?

Janice Thompson is a seasoned romance author and native Texan. An experienced wedding coordinator herself, Thompson brings alive in her books the everyday drama and humor of getting married. She is the author of Fools Rush In and Swinging on a Star. She lives in Texas.

Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, offers practical books that bring the Christian faith to everyday life. They publish resources from a variety of well-known brands and authors, including their partnership with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and Hungry Planet.

Here is my review of this terrific novel:

First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Janice Thompson and her publisher for sending me a copy of "It Had To Be You" to review for them. I have always been grateful for this generosity, and I am trying to improve at being consistent in taking the time to thank these wonderfully giving individuals in a public forum. I really appreciate your time, effort and expense in making a reviewer copy available to me.

The third installment in the Weddings by Bella series authored by Janice Thompson is a wacky journey of love for Bella’s Aunt Rosa and Uncle Laz, who have recently decided to put their family feud aside and take “the plunge”. Meanwhile, Bella is trying to plan her own wedding to hunky cowboy, D.J. Neeley. “It Had To Be You” is the perfect topper to this multi-layered story. This tale is filled with even more humor and culture as relatives from Italy arrive for the big day. And who invited the mob boss?

This is a wonderfully colorful novel that is filled with love and inspiration. This book can easily be read on its own, but why cheat yourself out of the humor, Italian passion and romance of the other two novels. I highly recommend buying all of these books and savoring them with some great food and maybe a little Dino – or Ol’ Blue Eyes – playing in the background.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
